There's a recall for the 2006 Ford F-150 series trucks, #06C11, that involves Your instrument cluster. Thankfully, You'll be able to sort this out with a software update that the dealer can implement for You. The NHTSA campaign number for the recall is 06V033000, and the defect is that a software error can prevent the antilock brake system warning light from illuminating if the ABS module becomes inoperative. Scary stuff! Other than that, there aren't any particular to this truck problems with the instrument cluster. If You find Yourself in need of resetting it, You can push and release the Se/Reset button 3 times repeatedly. The instrument cluster should then begin a self-test and return to base state.

The 2006 ford f150 instrument cluster can develop an internal short that causes it to flash on and off, this can lead to a fire and must be fixed by replacing the entire cluster.
