The 2009 GMC sierra doesn't have a cabin air filter. You will come across a few annoying noises from the air conditioner. Loose mounting bolts will become a nuisance. A bad compressor will get noisy. Too much Freon will make this happen. These sounds need to be look into quickly or You will lose Your mind. Being a sweaty mess is never a great time. That's why the air conditioner needs to be in top shape. You will face issues with this part at some time. The motor might become faulty. An inaccurate thermostat could arise. A nasty odor from the vents will cause problems with Your comfort. A fan may become loose. A Freon leak will cause You to sweat.

It is behind the kick plate, under the glove. You need to cut the plastic out on the bottom side to remove. New filter kit will have a new cover that screws on.

Really then why do they sell cabin air filters at Meijer and Walmart? There is a cabin air filter you just have to get behind the dang glove box! And then have the tiniest hands known on earth to get it out. 🤣🤷♀️
