Does the 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci have a timing belt or chain?

The 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI comes equipped with a timing chain. A timing chain synC-HRonizes the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft(s) ensuring proper timing and allows the engine's valves to open and close during each cylinder's firing. The chain is located inside of the engine and needs to be lubricated by the oil in the engine, making oil maintenance important as well.When a timing chain is worn, it develops slack and becomes loose. When this happens, the engine's valves, which are powered indirectly by the timing chain, will no longer run correctly. When the valves begin to run off-sync, the engine will function poorly and cause the vehicle to have a rough idle.
