Yes, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata does have a car alarm. In fact, it houses a pretty robust anti-theft system. The car alarm can be activated directly from the fob provided. By default, the alarm is always on, and features 2- stage motion sensors in a viper-alarm system. To turn off the car alarm, simply put the key into the ignition and move it clockwise as far as it will go. Make sure, however, to stop right before it triggers the engine to stop. Leave the key in this sweet spot for up to a minute to deactivate the anti-theft system and by extension, the cars alarm. Attempt it a second time if a first attempt fails.
