The 2011 Volvo XC90 has a timing chain, not a timing belt. Because of this You will not need to replace the chain over the life cycle of the car. This however assumes nothing manages to damage it, as while it should not wear out it can still be broken. If it is broken then You can expect to pay about 30 to 50 dollars for a new one. It will cost a little more to have someone put it on for You. If You buy it online be careful. Some retailers will simply list them as cam belts, which can be a chain or a belt. If You get a timing belt it will not help You.

The 2011 Volvo XC90 has a timing chain. While chains are more durable, they can stretch over time.
