Both the 2.0 L 4Cylinder engine and the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine in the 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer come with a timing chain. The chain works to make sure Your intake exhaust valves open up at the correct intervals. A chain will not require regular maintenance and it won't need to be replaced unless there is an actual problem with it. To make sure that there isn't a problem with it all You need to do is change Your oil at the correct intervals. Check Your owner's manual for more specific information on when to change Your oil but it's typically every 5,000 miles or 12 months. -
