Does the 2012 VW Eos have a timing belt or chain?

All models of the Volkswagen Eos made froM2009 and onward will include a timing chain system. This will be the same for all models so even if You have the upgraded engine it will use a timing chain. These chains are built to last and it's expected that You won't need to replace it for the life of Your vehicle. If You end up damaging the engine or if You end up in an accident then of course the chain will need to be swapped out. A replacement timing chain kit will cost in the range of $100 to $200.
