The 2013 Toyota Tundra comes with a timing chain rather than timing belt, as it is a much better alternative. The standard timing chain is better because it serves for long-term use and provides a much better performance for the owner. Timing chains have become prevalent in the second generation of Toyota Tundras. Chains are more durable, as the belts are prone to normal wear and tear from use. Chains function for a long time and owners might only have to change it after approximately 80,000 to 120,000 miles of use. In most cases, it will serve for the life of the car and not need to ever be replaced or serviced.
