The 2015 Toyota Highlander comes with optional remote start directly from Toyota. The system will use Your OEM key fob to allow You to start the vehicle remotely if You are near it. Remote start can be very useful if You live in a location that is very cold or very hot since it allows Your car to either cool down or heat up so that it is comfortable to drive in. Remote start is also good since it can get the fluids up to temperature in Your engine before You drive to help reduce wear and tear on the internal components. The only downside to Toyota's remote start system is it does not work from very far away from the car.

Remote start is an offered feature on the 2015 Highlander, but most owners have switched, or are going to switch, to an aftermarket kit due to the limited range of the original key fob from Toyota.
