Your 2015 Volkswagen GTI has a timing chain, not a timing belt. This is good news for You, because it should mean that You never have to replace it - unless something pretty serious happens to Your car. Belts have a shorter lifespan than chains, and replacing them can be spendy. Even though chains are superior, there are still some things You can do to keep them at their healthiest. One of the most important is staying on top of Your recommended oil change intervals. For Your car, thats every 10,000 miles or so. You should also be checking oil levels about once a month to make sure the oil looks healthy, but is also within the recommended levels on Your dipstick.
