The 2017 Chevy Colorado comes equipped with remote start as a standard inclusion on the ZR2 and Z71 models. <\p. Remote start is not only a comfort feature, it can prolong the life of the Colorado's mechanical components. In cold weather, remote starting allows the vehicle to pre-heat to operating temperatures, and ensures engine oil is warm enough to effectively coat moving parts and prevent them from warping. To use the RS on the Colorado, depress and release the key fob's lock button and then hold down the semi-circle button until the turn signal lights flash. The vehicle will run for 10 minutes before automatically shutting off. To remotely shut off, depress the semi-circle button again.

If you are purchasing a used Colorado and want the remote start option, you must be aware of the trim level of the vehicle you are purchasing. Remote start is not a factory option on all Colorado models. It comes standard on the Z71 and is an optional feature on the LT. On both WT and the base model there is no factory remote start. If you purchase a used Colorado and it does not have remote start, you may always purchase an aftermarket kit.
