The 2017 Chevy Traverse has push button start offered as standard. This is becoming the standard for newer cars these days. A push button start system is superior to thE-Classic key system. There is not any way that You can jam a push button start to work like You could with an ignition cylinder. That helps protect Your car from theft. Push button start is also safer because it uses a scRambled code to communicate with Your key fob and allow the car to start, and that cannot be defeated as easily as a physical key. To use a push button start simply put Your foot on the brake pedal and press and hold the button until the engine starts.

When vehicles were first being manufactured, the operator would crank over the engine and press a button to start it. Then, it was just a button to start. After they became more common, a key was needed to ensure that nobody stole your vehicle. Now, manufacturers have gone back to a button start and stop. Most newer vehicles have this feature which is combined with a key fob to maintain the security that keys provided. The Traverse is one of the new vehicles with a push button start/stop.
