There have been complaints about the 2017 Ford Fusion battery draining and having to be replaced more often than expected, however, there do not appear to be any recalls on this issue. There have been instances of the battery even dying during the course of vehicle operation, which are forcing the drivers to get the car off the road and callroadside assistance for a jump-start or tow. Ford has stated that they are aware of the issue but have no been able to determine what is causing the failure and has failed to remedy the issue. If You have this problem take it to the dealership and they should be able to get You a new battery.

Bought my 2017 brand new in Dec 2017. I have walked out to my vehicle on 9 different occasions and it has not started. The dealership has replaced the battery at least three times, multiple modules, and the alternator. I wake up this morning, and my vehicle is dead again. The 2017 fusion is a joke and ford is aware of the problem and has done nothing to rectify it. If I could rate this vehicle less than 0 I would!

I have a 2017 Fusion Sport that I bought brand new, and had my first "dead battery" at around 1,000 miles...its ongoing ever since.

I purchased a 2017Ford Fusion from Lindsay Ford, 2/19/22, 42723 odometer miles. I returned for my oil change and service checks 8/6/22 at approximately 46000 odometer miles. At the time of the multi-point inspection the results show my battery to be performance test to be in the green, passed and no recommendation needed. 8/15/22, after 1 week of limited local driving, my car would not start. It would barely run on a jump from roadside. I had it towed to the dealership. The current battery Is a 2021 battery, according to the date on the battery. The technician informed me that I needed to start with purchasing a new battery. Once I have a new battery they would test to see if anything was draining the battery. They would also complete additional testing. The alternator is good. None of these items are covered by the extended warranty. The initial quote for battery is initial testing is $500. +.

I was recently told by a mechanic that works on Ford trucks this is happening on various ford trucks and as a result a recall is being done to fix the problem. The solution i am told is to reprogram the remote. If it is happening on Ford trucks it would seem to me that the same situation could also be happening on cars as well. I have a 2018 Ford Fusion and the battery has gone dead twice only to be told the battery is ok.

I have a 2017 Ford Fusion with the same problem. New in 2017, replaced "bad battery" in 2019 and now again in 2021. Never have had an issue like this with any other vehicle in my life. Nor did my parents. I've read a lot of people with electrical issues with these. Ford isn't doing anything about it.
