The 2017 Volvo XC60 does not come with the Apple CarPlay feature in it. However, it was added to the XC60 in the subsequent 2018 model. In 2017, some other Volvo models like the S60 saw Apple CarPlay added to them. Many car makers have started the move toward digital online streaming services for their entertainment system. The old and trusty CD player is being retired in many cars now, and this is a trend that will only go up. People have dRamatically reduced their purchasing habits of buying music on CDs. So it is only natural that this shift would happen in the automotive industry as well. Mainly because people listen to more music in their cars than other places.
I have been told by a UK Volvo dealer that an XC60 Momentum Pro 67 plate, registered in November 2017 (2018 model year) can be given a software Apple Car Play upgrade at a cost of £300. Can anyone confirm this. The particular car that I’m looking at has the new portrait centre screen but doesn’t have a full virtual cockpit type screen behind the steering wheel. It only appears to have central digital speedo dial with an up and down rev counter at the side (not another dial like the full virtual cockpit screenl). There is other information at the extremes of the display such as fuel gauge and temperature I think, but apparently no sat nav option on the cockpit screen.

The 2017 Volvo XC60 is not compatible with apple carplay. The 2018 model year was the first that Volvo offered this feature.

Volvo did not offer Apple CarPlay in XC60 for 2017. It didn't come out until the 2018 model year.
