The 2018 AudiQ5 does come with Apple car play as a standard feature from the factory. CarPlay can be activated through its touch screen as well as steering and voice-activated controls.CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use Your iPhone while You drive. You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and enjoy Your favorite music. All on Your car's built-in display. The usage of CarPlay in and of itself does not use data. If You turn on Your car and connect Your iPhone, and Car Play starts it does not use any data while it is connected. Anything You do in CarPlay that requires Internet access will use data. Maps, streaming Pandora, Apple Music, etc.

The 2018 Q5 does not have a touch screen. It has the MMI control knob and touchpad. I don't know why so many websites say the 2018 Q5 and SQ5 have a touch screen, but it does not.

CarPlay in the 2018 Q5’s is barebones - this does not have a touch screen it’sknob controlled and there’s no Wireless Carplay only wired.

The 2018 Audi Q5 comes with "Audi MMI," its own in-house infotainment system. Audi MMI in the 2018 Q5 can be activated through its touch screen as well as steering and voice activated controls. This infotainment system comes with Audi Smartphone, which is the same thing as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Throughout all of the Q5 trims, the Prestige (S Tronic and Manual), the Premium (S Tronic and manual), the Premium Plus (S Tronic and manual), A5 Cabriolet Prestige, the Premium and the Premium Plus, Apple CarPlay is available on Audi MMI.
