Ford put out Special Service Message (SSM) 47299 with regard to the 2018 Expedition, which deals largely with the air conditioning system. It points to an issue that will throw no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) but will cause the vehicle to lack AC cooling. It applies to vehicles built from January 2, 2018 through February 6, 2019 -- and also applies to the Lincoln Navigator. It cautions to not install an AC machine or AC pressure gauge on the vehicle, as they contain a contaminated R1234YF refrigerant. It further cautions that You should not attempt any repairs associated with AC recovery on the affected vehicles, and instead consult a dealership with how to proceed on any AC related issues.

If your 2018 ford expedition experiences loss of cold air in ac consider it could be a coolant leak, the need for a new compressor or a bad condenser and clutch fan.
