Although numerous complaints have been launched by owners regarding the 2019 Ford Explorer's windshield trim, no recall appears to have been initiated. Typical problems document the driver's side windshield molding coming free from the vehicle's frame while the SUV is being driven at highway speeds. The event happens froM50,000-100,000 miles, but most often occurs in higher mileage vehicles. Owners are advised by service technicians the trim's brackets have fractured or other parts of the assembly are vulnerable to breaking. While the Explorer has been recalled for faulty seatbacks, it was not cited for its windshield trim issue. The recliner mechanisms installed in the Explorer's seatbacks may fail causing a loss of stability in the seat. Repairs can be performed by a local dealership at no charge to owners.
