While later model Acura ILXs feature a timing chain, the 2014 is going to have a timing belt. As You probably know, You'll need to get this replaced, usually every seven years, or around 100k miles, whichever of those milestones You hit first. Typical replacement costs for the timing belt are going to be about $200 just for the belt, and around $300 to $400 for the labor to go ahead and put it in. Some symptoms that Your timing belt is likely failing are going to be that You hear some odd noises coming from the engine, or that it mIS Fires. It may also idle roughly and have a loss of power, and, of course, You might notice that the check engine light (CEL) illuminates.
