Does the chevrolet spark have a timing belt or chain?

The Chevrolet Spark comes with a timing chain on the engine instead of a belt. This is an improvement because You will not need to service the chan like You would a belt. A timing belt service is usually the most expensive regular maintenance item that You will need to do, and it needs to be done every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. With a timing chain like Your Spark has You will not need to do that and You will be able to go over 300,000 miles without changing it. I still recommend You inspect Your timing chain at least once a year to make sure that it is not loose or damaged. You should also still change Your water pump which is driven by Your chain at least once every 100,000 miles.
