Every Chevy Cobalt manufactured froM2005 to 2010 will have a timing chain. While the timing chain will typically last much longer than a timing belt it can still run into some issues if it wears down. If You experience excessive engine rattling while sitting idle, find bits of metal in Your oil, or if Your engine just fails to start completely, these are a few signs that Your chain may be damaged and You should get it replaced as soon as possible. Failure to do so can lead to more severe damage to Your engine that can be expensive to fix. Try and avoid this by keeping up with regular oil change maintenance so the chain stays well lubricated. -
