The Chevy Spark doesn't have a temperature gauge. You will come into many problems with an engine. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be replaced sooner than expected. A really serious problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to fires and the car exploding. A gasket may be loose and that needs to be tightened up quickly. A spark plug may pop off, causing engine trouble. You can have oil leaks and those need to be fixed as soon as possible. The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles. The spark plugs need to be changed every 100,000 miles unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be changed every 30,000 miles. Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.

I am fitting a mechanical gauge- easier than electronic, - no electrical connection needed . My Chev Spark 1.2 2012 156 000kms over heated, could not see that it is going over normal temperature- the water light did not even come on :-( Look like the thermostat stuck)

No..it has a temperature sensor hooked to the computer. If the car is too hot it first shuts off the air conditioning..if that doesn't work the car will give you a alarm bell sound and the check engine light will go on. With warning lights..red warning lights cannot be ignored..pull over and shut it down till a mechanic can do a engine code diagnosis and tell you IF it is safe to drive until its fixed.
