The most reported and common electronic locking differential problem for a Ford F-150 is that it wont unlock. It remains stuck in place even if You keep trying to unlock it. You will have to look for a plug near the rear differential and then unplug it for a temporary fix. This issue apparently occurs due to a broken ELD switch which will need to be replaced as soon as possible. The electronic locking differential for Your vehicle is situated in the rear axle and enables both of the rear wheels to turn at the exact same speed. It provides traction to avoid Your vehicle from getting stuck. The electronic differential is disengaged when the vehicle speed goes above a set value which is 25mph and it is re-engaged when the vehicle speed goes down and reaches a certain value which in this case would be 20mph.
