The Ford Fiesta has not had any outstanding or common issues that have been acknowledged by the manufacturer. Consumers have reported that there have been problem areas around the valve cover seal and near the variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid. The o-ring seal on the solenoid has started leaking because of a bad gasket that becomes damaged. The firSTStep You can do is locate where the oil is leaking and if it is one of the problems outlined above the leak will be noticed at the top of the engine block. Tightening the bolt at a torque of 71 in-lb. Solenoid bolt and the torque for the valve cover bolt iS80 in-lb.

Fluid leaks tend to move in the direction of downwards and backwards. Oil leakage beneath the engine's rear may therefore have originated in the upper front engine area. One way a shop avoids misdiagnosing oil leaks is using oil detection dye which helps identify the exact source of the leak.

Some of the common leak problems oil filter if the oil filter has been damaged or wasn't sealed properly at the last oil change, it very well could be leaking some oil. ... Oil pan the oil pan is a very common place for oil to leak from. Most likely, the gasket that sits between the oil pan and the engine block will go bad.
