The 1.6L TDCi engine was introduced for the third generation of the Ford Focus and it will use a timing belt for every year that it was available. These belts are expected to last between 75,000 to 100,000 miles so You're likely only going to need to have it replaced once but possibly twice over the life of Your vehicle. A full new kit timing belt kit for this engine including water pump will cost between $150 and $225. If You want to take it in to a mechanic to have them do the job You're looking at a total of between $500 and $850 for total parts and labor costs.
