In general replacing the battery in your Ford Fusion should be a pretty straightforward process and there should not be many problems with it. As long as you use the correct group battery and it has enough cold cranking amps then your vehicle should work fine. If your battery dies after changing it then the most likely problem is one with your alternator. This is the generator in your car that charges up your battery and runs the electrical devices while the engine is running. You should have an alternator test done on your car to Make sure that it is charging properly. A common problem on these is that a voltage regulator fails and that can cause damage.

When there is not enough charge to start the engine or power electrical components the battery is considered dead. Usually, the first indication is dim lighting inside the vehicle and the engine can turn slowly, or not at all, when you try to start it. A very fast clicking noise is usually heard if there is any charge left in the battery, but the vehicle will in many cases be absolutely unresponsive.
