The Ford Ranger T6 has a few problems to note, but nothing more so than You'll find in most other Ford vehicles. In particular, the turbocharger does tend to fail, but it doesn't do so at such a high rate that it's worrisome for buyers. The most common problems with the vehicle are trivial issues that You'll find in just about any other car or truck. As far as turbocharger failure, You'll typically have an oil leak around the perimeter. Many drivers choose to ignore this until it gets to be too bad, but that's not advisable; You'll want to get things fixed early, so that You'll be in a better (and cheaper) position. A turbocharger replacement runs in the thousands, so You'll want to likely avoid that if at all possible.

T6 FR 4x2 Auto, Diesel, S.A. 2012 model. From inception of purchase date, transmission issues, rough gear change (eventually changed valve body at my own cost), Problems experienced within three years of purchase ... InterCooler hose; failure of central locking system on dashboard, Instrument Cluster Panel – dark in some places, unsure if service/alert icons are fully functional, door locks failure, faded paint on hood/cab.
