The GMC Canyon does have 4wd. Having good steering is crucial for changing lanes and moving about on the road. You will someday come across some problems though. Steering fluid may leak at one point. It might turn to one side. The steering wheel might become stuck. The strut bearings may become bad. The rack mount can become faulty. The steering pump can become loose and that will be disaster for Your vehicle. The power steering fluid needs to be changed every 75,000 miles or so. Along with replacing fluids, You will come across noises from steering parts. A bad bearing will make a nasty sound. A loose bearing will become annoying to the ear.

GMC's 2018 Canyon have a few trucks with 2.5 liter engines. Its base model with a short bed is rear wheel drive only. The other 2.5 liter engine trucks that are also only rear wheel are the SL Extended cab SB and the SLE crew cab SB. The rest of the 2.5 liter GMC Canyon's, the Canyon extended cab SB and the SLE Extended cab SB, both have rear wheel drive and four wheel drive models. Most of the 2018 GMC Canyons, however, come with a 3.6 liter engine. Those 6 cylinder models with both drivetrains are: the SLE crew cab LB, the SLT crew cab SB, the SLT crew cab LB, the Denali crew cab SB and the Denali crew cab LB. The Canyon SLE crew cab SB, the All Terrain crew cab SB, the All Terrain extended cab SB and the All Terrain crew cab LB, all come in four wheel drive only. Lastly, the 3.6 liter Canyon crew cab LB only comes in rear wheel drive.
