Changing the transmission fluid in Your 2008 Ford Edge is fairly simple, probably more so than You would expect. It will only take around 8 to 12 minutes of Your time. The firSTStep is to go to the front of Your vehicle and pop open the hood. Locate the dipstick on top of the transmission, and remove it. Wipe off any fluid adhering to the dipstick, and replace it in the reservoir. Remove it a second time, and check how high the fluid is on the stick. If fluid needs to be added, You will need to purchase up to 10 quarts of Dexron or Mercon automatic transmission fluid.

To change the transmission fluid on a 2008 ford edge you will need to remove the drain plug from the transmission, allow the fluid to drain, and then replace the plug with a new washer. Then you can fill the transmission with new fluid from the engine compartment.
