If You want to check the brake system on Your Ford Fusion there are a few things that You will need to check. The first and easiest thing to check is the fluid. There is a master cylinder that is located in Your engine compartment and You will want to make sure that the fluid levels are filled on that. The next thing to inspect are the pads. You will either need to get under the vehicle or remove the wheels to take a look at these and make sure that they have plenty of life left on them. The last thing You will need to inspect are the lines and cables. The emergency brake uses a metal cable and the rest of the brakes use hydraulic lines. Make sure that all of these are tight and free from signs of damage.

A check brake system message indicates the need to replace brake fluid, brake pads, or a related braking system part. It could also signal a mere computer malfunction.
