If there is oil pan leak in the 2010 Ford Escape then You have two options. One is to replace the pan itself, if it is cracked for example then it will leak. The other is to check the lines and connections and make sure they are not leaking. Then You will need to do an oil change. When performing an oil change on the car You will first want to make sure that the vehicle has been parked and off for a couple of hours. Otherwise, the oil in the car will be very hot and You could burn Yourself. Find the oil pan in the engine compartment and locate the drain plug on the underside. Position a bucket under the plug and then remove it. This will allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let it do this until it stops dripping, which may take an hour or so. After it has finished dripping You can put the drain plug back on, then locate the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Using a funnel fill the oil pan to full, but make sure to not overfill. A little under is fine, but going over can lead to leaks and oil burn off. Once it is full close the port up, wipe up any spilt oil and You will be finished.

An oil leak in the ground where the vehicle is parked may be noted. Most cars, however, have plastic trays under the engine that can trap leaking oil and cover leakage. In such situations it may be noticed a low oil level, a smell of burning oil, or even smoke from oil burning in the engine bay. You'll then need to repair the oil pan gasket to fix the leak.
