To lower the spare tire on Your Chevy Silverado, Pull up the round trim panel, located on the right side of the storage bin, to reveal the spare tire winch drive nut. Place the jack handle over the winch drive nut, then turn the nut counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground. It is essential to have a working spare tire as You never know when You will need it next. You should check Your spare tire for signs of wear. Whenever You check the spare tire, look for cracks in the sidewalls and in between the tread blocks. If there are light cracks that the edge of a penny doesn't catch on, You are alright to use the spare tire and just have it replaced after usage.
