The first thing to check with the anti-theft system on the Chevrolet Colorado, is that the key in Your remote entry fob isn't dead; if it is, that'll be why You're unable to reset it the normal way. Likewise, You'll want to check the battery in Your vehicle as well. A third reason is a damaged immobilizer chip on Your key; verify that's not the case. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the car to the accessory position, but don't turn on the engine. Has the anti-theft light reset If it's no longer blinking, You can turn the vehicle to the off position and wait a few minutes. Otherwise, wait until the light stops blinking, and then follow the instructions I just typed!

Turn the key on and leave it in the running position for 15 minutes. Then turn the key off for 30 seconds. Then you turn the key back on for another 15 minutes and off again for another 30 seconds.
This happens to me and I know waiting 10 minutes will help but I’m over it. I want to know if I can de activate it?

Here's the steps without modification... Should only take 10 seconds. 1. Get in your vehicle, but leave your door open. Put your key in the ignition and leave it inserted, do NOT turn your key to any position yet. You will hear the rapid dings, let it go for about 3-4 seconds. 2. Turn your key to the ON position only, do NOT start the engine yet. Wait until you hear the dinging sound change to slow dings, you will see the lights on your dash go out and the dinging sound will stop. 3. Now turn your key to the START position and start your engine. Hope this helps someone. 🙂

Jiggle your truck back and forth a couple of times, and it will start. I have no idea why. This has worked for me 10 times.
My Colorado did it again today. My solution is to turn the key on (full start) for 15 sec. Then off for 10 minutes. Then it will start.

I have passlock problems with my 2012 chevy colorado it has been doing it every other start. I found a process on the internet and it has worked every time for the last week. Put your key in the door and unlock and hold it for 30 seconds then release and take it out. Get in close the door and start your truck. What happens from what I read is it lets the truck know you’re using the key to open it and start and takes it out the anti theft mode.Some vehicles you do not have to wait 30 seconds you can just unlock it with the key and lock it back with the key and then unlock and get in and start the truck I have been doing this with my truck the last couple of days and it worked so far. My colorado will not start sometimes, the red lights flashes, turn switch off for 10 min. Red light stop flashing truck starts. This does not happen evertime I try to start it.

My 2022 just did this. It's being serviced now. Whatever happened, they wanted both FOBs to see if they could troubleshoot it.
2016 Colorado. Truck runs great and locks great BUT alarm wont set . Made sure all doors were shut completely also. Still alarm sound doesn’t sound but truck does lock. Thoughts?
