To rest the anti theft system for Your 2000 Ford Excursion You'll first need to put the key in the ignition and move it in to the ON position but do not start the engine. Around 30 to 60 seconds after turning it to the ON position the theft light will go away and then You need to turn the car into the off position. Next remove the key from the ignition for one minute. Finally put the key back in to the ignition and move it in the ON position one last time. You should now have the theft system disabled and be able to use Your vehicle as normal.

To reset the 2000 ford excursion anti-theft key, follow these steps- insert your first programmed key into the ignition of the car and turn it to the "on" position. Loop the first "off" key out, delete it from the starter, and install the second system key within 5 seconds. Loop in "on" and "off" and delete the second switch. Attach the key that you want to restore within 10 seconds, leaving it "on" for one second, and then loop it back to "off." Keep the key in the ignition until the security light is turned on, then remove the key to complete the programming cycle.
