Resetting the anti-theft system in Your 2001 Toyota Avalon is fairly simple to do. It will only take around 15 to 19 minutes of Your time, on average. The first thing You will need to do is go to the driver's side of Your car, and get inside. Next, place Your key in the ignition and turn it to the on or run position. Make sure when You take this step that You don't accidentally crank up the engine. Wait for a count of 10 to 12 minutes, at which point You should see the security light begin to blink on and off. It will eventually stop blinking, at which time You should turn the key to the off position, then wait for around 6 to 10 seconds before starting Your engine.
