The body control module (BCM) in Your 2003 Honda Pilot helps prevent the vehicle from being stolen by shutting down the starting system when necessary. However, sometimes, this happens for no reason, and You'll have to reset the security system to start the engine. The first method for fixing this is to exit the vehicle after making sure all windows and doors are closed. Lock the driver's side door using the key and not the fob and move to stand 10 feet away. After 15 minutes, this may reset the system. In most cases though, You'll need to be sitting in the vehicle to reset it. Turn the key in the ignition as if You're starting the engine. When it fails to start, allow the key to sit in the ON position. Leave the key like this for 10 minutes. Don't open the door during this time. After 10 minutes, the light should go out. Turn the ignition off and try starting the engine. If it starts, the reset worked. If not, You'll need to do it again.

To reset the 2003 honda pilot security system place the key in the driver's side door lock, unlock it, lock it, then unlock it again. Then you can place your key in the ignition and let it run for at least ten minutes.
