Before You attempt to do a system security reset on Your 2005 Nissan Altima, You're going to want to make sure Your car battery's fully charged. This is because the process can run down the battery a bit, and the last thing You want happening is a dead battery in the middle of this. So, if You're all charged up, simply hop in Your Altima and turn the ignition key to the on position, wait a few seconds, and then try to start the engine (crank it over). It's expected the engine won't start; that's fine; leave the key in hte run position, and just wait 10 minutes. You should see the security light blink and go out. Turn the key to the off position, and wait about 10 seconds. Then, go ahead and try cranking Your Altima again, and see if it starts. If not, You can repeat this process three times, after which, Your neXTStep is likely going to be consulting Your dealership.
