To reset the 2006 Dodge Charger TCM, You will start by cycling to the running position on Your ignition without pressing the brake pedal. Next, slowly lower the gas pedal to the floor and let it back up. After that, cycle to the off position. It should be reset when You restart the engine. The TCM is an electronic mechanism that collects data from the transmission, interprets signals sent from other parts of the vehicle (i.e. Throttle position sensor, turbine speed sensor, fluid temperature sensor, etc.), and helps to regulate the gears shifting. A bad TCM can cause other transmission problems when it fails to mix the fuel/air ratio properly. This can affect Your vehicles responsiveness immensely and cause it to jump or kick unexpectedly.
