To perform a 2006 Ford Explorer anti theft reset there are two options. You can simply go in and disconnect the positive battery cable and let it rest for about 30 min. After put the cable back on and You will be good to go. The other option is to pull the fuse and likewise wait. Either will cut the power long enough to reset it. To get to the fuse box underneath the hood of the car You will want to pop the hood and latch it open. Along the right-hand side of the engine compartment will be a black box or case. You will see that it has a seam that runs around it. If You pop this open You will find the fuse inside. On the back of the lid for the case will be a diagram of what fuse is for what. If this is not on the back of the box then You can also find it in the owner's manual for the car. Once You have figured out which fuse You need simply pull it out. The two sections that stick up should be connected by a thin strip of metal. If this has been broken then the fuse is no good and will need to be replaced. If this strip is there then the fuse is fine and can be popped back in. New fuses will cost You about 10 dollars, so they are pretty cheap

To perform a reset the 2006 ford explorer anti-theft system, follow these steps- insert your first programmed key into the ignition of the car and turn it to the "on" position. Loop the first "off" key out, delete it from the starter, and install the second system key within 5 seconds. Loop in "on" and "off" and delete the second switch. Attach the key that you want to restore within 10 seconds, leaving it "on" for one second, and then loop it back to "off." Keep the key in the ignition until the security light is turned on, then remove the key to complete the programming cycle.
