Resetting the anti-theft system in Your 2006 Ford Fusion is fairly easy to do. It will take around 6 to 12 minutes of Your time. First, You should go to the driver's side of Your car, and sit down inside. Now, place Your key in the ignition, and turn it to the on position. Make sure when this is done that You do not actually crank up the engine. Turn the ignition back and forth, alternating between the off and on position for a repetition of 8 times within 10 seconds. Make sure the final position it stops in is the run position. Now, turn it off, then start the engine and the security system should be restored.
