When the TPMS light is on in Your 2008 Chevy Impala the first thing that You should do is go out and inspect the tires. Make sure that they are not flat and that there are not any foreign objects in the tires like nails or screws. After that You should inflate each of them to the correct PSI from the decal in the driver's door jamb. Once Your tires are all filled then You can go ahead and simply reset the TPMS. To do t his You will need to press and hold the Check icon button below the "i" button. Hold this until the TPMS light blinks on the dash. Once that happens You have reset the system and You can drive off.
