Maintaining the correct PSI in the 2009 Subaru Outback's tires, makes for safer driving and better fuel economy. To reset the TPMS warning, park the car on a flat surface and using a gauge, make sure tires are inflated to a PSI of 35 in the front and 33 PSI in the rear. With the doors locked and windows rolled up, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position and locate the reset button below the steering wheel. Depress it until the light flashes three times. Wait a few more seconds and start the car. Run for 20 minutes while the system records the new pressure of each tire and turn the ignition off. Restart the car and the TPMS warning should be switched off.
