There are two methods to reset the oil life counter on a 2012 Kia Sportage. Depending on which trim You have You will need to do one or the other. The first way is to turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. Then You need to press the gas pedal slowly and fully three times, once You have released it for the third time You can then turn the ignition off and then back on. This time You will start the engine. The counter should not be reset. The second way will require You to again, turn on the ignition but not the engine, followed by pressing and holding the reset button until the light blinks and turns off.
