When there is a check engine light on in Your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the first thing You should do is try to stop driving as soon as possible. Driving with a check engine light can damage components in Your vehicle and should be avoided. Once You have stopped You should use an OBD II scan tool to read the codes that have been stored in the ECU that caused the light to turn on. If they are minor, like a vacuum leak, then You can usually clear them with the scan tool and the light will not come back on. If they are major like failed sensors or damaged components then clearing the code will not do anything. As soon as the vehicle starts back up the check engine light will turn back on. To fix those You will need to replace the failed components.

To reset the check engine light, otherwise known as a maintenance reset, on the 2014 jeep grand cherokee you will need to either reset the battery by removing the positive and negative cables, or connect an obd scanner and do it through there.
