Resetting the anti theft security system for Your 2015 Chevy Malibu will extremely simple as long as You have access to Your key. You're going to want to put the key in the ignition and then wait for 10 to 15 minutes. Now at a certain point the anti theft warning light should go away for You. Once this light has gone You should now be able to use Your vehicle as normal again. If this doesn't work then You have the option of removing the battery from the vehicle for 20 minutes so that everything in the vehicle is reset back to it's factory settings.

I tried both and I even got another starter, battery ,fuse, still won't let me reset?? Is it because I use the spare key for the car? Do I have to use the main key to reset it??

Okay, I am having trouble with the procedure. I’ve tried BOTH turning the key, waiting the time for the car to reset, etc…then removing the battery cable (positive lead) waiting 30 plus minutes and the Security Theft Protection System still won’t reset/go away. I’m completely out of your options…? Any other ideas???

Follow these instructions to help you reset the 2015 Chevy malibu theft system, turn the ignition key to position and wait for approximately. 10 Minutes and the flashing anti-theft goes off. Turn the key off and then go back to the car and start it.

1. Insert a properly cut transponder key into the ignition and turn the key to the on position. 2. The THEFT light will come on, leave the key in the ON” position for 10 minute and the light will go out. 3. Within 55 seconds turn the ignition to the “OFF” position and then back to the “ON” position for another 10 minutes, the THEFT light will again stay on for the 10 minutes. 4. When the THEFT light goes out again, you will again have 55 seconds to turn the ignition to the “OFF'” position and then again to the “ON” position 5. After the THEFT light goes out the third time the key should be properly programmed. 6. Remove and reinsert the key, start the vehicle to confirm the programming has worked.
