Resetting the oil life light on Your 2017 Subaru Outback is going to be a very easy task. First You're going to need to put the key in the ignition and move it in to the on position but do not start Your engine. If You have a keyless system then just press the start engine button twice. Now You're going to want to press the gas pedal down and then release it three times in a row with about one second in between each time You press it. Once done You can go ahead and kill power to the vehicle and start it back up again. The oil life should now be reset.

To reset the oil life warning or maintenance light in your 2017 subaru outback vehicle, turn the ignition key to the "on" position and depress the gas pedal slowly three times. Release and start your vehicle and the oil light should indicate a reset.

On my 2017 Outback, which has the Subaru Starlink info system, I was able to manually reset the oil & filter reminder thru the screen selections. In the "Info" - "Maintenance" section, you can manually edit the next change dates and mileage countdown (for all kinds of periodic items).
