To change the cabin air filter on the 2002 Toyota Tacoma, open the glove boxAnd disconnect the dampener arm from the passenger's side of the box. Press both sides of the unit and pull down. Unhinge the glove box to remove it. Open the filter door by releasing the top latches. Pull the old CAF out of its slot and insert the new one. Reverse the previous steps to re-install all parts. When servicing a CAF, keep in mind it must be changed as a part of a routine maintenance schedule, and while this interval varies based on make and model owned, most manufacturers recommend replacing the CAF at least every 15,000 and 30,000 miles to keep the interior of the vehicle clean.
