The ABS light in Your Chevy Tahoe comes on when the computer senses a problem in the Anti-Lock Brake system. This can be a one time event or something more serious like a faulty sensor or component. Once You have verified that the ABS system is functioning as it should You will want to clear the warning light so that it can do its job the next time a fault is found. To do this You will need to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and leave it off for 20-30 minutes. If You want to speed up the process You can hold the brake pedal down for a minute or two to fully drain and residual voltage from the vehicle's electronics. After that, reconnect the battery and the light will be gone.

You must remove the positive cable from the car battery to reset the abs light, and then keep the brake pedal down to drain the electrical system of the vehicle. Change the abs sensor when the light is on again. Link an obd code reader to the onboard diagnostic device for your car to find any other triggers of brake light.
