When Your 2007 Dodge Caliber enters limp mode it happens because there is a problem that was detected with the engine. The problems that can put a vehicle into limp mode are usually very serious and should be addressed. You will usually have a check engine light turn on when the vehicle goes into limp mode and You can use an OBD II scan tool to read the code from it to determine what went wrong with the engine. If You cannot diagnose what went wrong You will need to take it to a mechanic or dealership to get fixed. Clearing a code that throws the vehicle into limp mode will not solve it because there is a physical problem that needs to be addressed.
