A few transmission reset procedures have been mentioned in various auto forum posts but whether or not it works seems to be hit or miss. The first involves holding down the throttle pedal until You hear the transmission beep. You should not be running the engine at this time and need to hold the pedal for at least 25 seconds. Another reset method says to push start the car making sure not to touch the brake nor the key. Hold down the accelerator for 10 seconds. While still holding after this press the start button. Release the pedal then wait for 2 minutes. Start the car to check if the transmission response is back to normal.

My 2002 x5 starts just by Turing the key I don't need to push break ,how would I reset out of transsafe mode cheers

To reset the BMW X5 transmission, you turn on the ignition without your foot on the brake, so the engine doesn't start. Press the accelerator on the floor for 15 seconds. Release the accelerator, then turn the car off and start the engine and drive.
