The Dodge Dart's "check engine" light may be able to be reset by disconnecting the battery cables for at least 10 minutes to allow the ECM and other modules to recalibrate. In other circumstances the only effective method may involve an OBDII scanner or repairing the mechanical issues that caused the warning. The light will be eliminated after erasing the universal error codes. Locate the OBDII port to the left of the driver's steering wheel. Install the scanner by plugging into the port. Allow the tool to run a diagnostic test. Press "read". The tool will return the error codes causing the "check engine" light to come on. When prompted choose "erase". Your Dart's warning should be eliminated.
To clear the check engine light on the Dodge Dart, attach a OBD scanner to the OBD port and follow the directions on the screen to reset the light or erase the codes.
